Rolex Officially Starts Accepting 2018 Rolex Talent Awards Global Applications

Five Young Talent Awards will be awarded to a new generation of young leaders to start a new era for the benefit of society

Geneva, December 1, 2016-Rolex today announced that the application for the 2018 Rolex Young Talent Award has officially started. This award is designed to fund Young Leaders to realize their revolutionary vision and benefit the world.

The Rolex Young Talent Award welcomes applications from 18 to 30 years old, regardless of nationality, as long as their project proposals break through innovation, expand world awareness, and improve the quality of life on the planet. The scope of the award covers three major areas: environmental protection, applied technology and discovery.

The five young talent award winners will each receive a prize of 100,000 Swiss francs, double the previous amount. In addition, they receive a Rolex watch and can promote their projects and proposals with global outreach.

‘This year we are proud to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Rolex Award for Talent and Talent. We also take this opportunity to recognize the efforts and contributions of 140 winners since the establishment of this award.’ Rebecca Irvin said, ‘For the 2018 awards, we look forward to the initiative and new solutions submitted by the five Young Leaders selected by Queping are creative and show extraordinary creation spirit.’

Past award-winning programs include increasing the production of television educational programs, training poor farmers with radio programs to increase agricultural income, and exploring caves in Pingdingshan, South America. Other award-winning projects include research and development of medical technology, revival of ancient customs and traditions, and protection of rare and endangered species.

The winners are selected by an independent jury. Each awards jury must be reorganized, with experts volunteering to serve as jury members. They all reflect the leadership qualities that Rolex values. The judges will meet in early 2018 to select the winners, and the winners will be announced later in the same year.

Candidates must not only have the spirit of creation and leadership, their proposed projects or work plans must have clear goals, be original, and have a profound impact on society and the environment.
